Rey founded Aptos Strategy Group, Inc. after 24 years building careers, and pipelines, across the federal market. As a U.S. Army Sergeant Major he led financial operations across global combatant commands and earned a Bronze Star on combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. As a senior growth executive he has built and run $400M+ pipelines for small and large GovCon firms, including Private Equity-held companies.
He believes the federal market rewards firms that move on signal before their competitors do, and that the best advisory work comes from people who have actually carried the pipeline number. Aptos exists to put that operator judgment in the room when a pursuit, a hire, or an exit is on the line.
Rey holds an MBA from American Intercontinental University and a BBA from Colorado Technical University. He carries an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He is an active member of the Society of Defense Financial Management (SDFM), AFCEA, and AUSA. A native of Carolina, Puerto Rico, he is a fluent Spanish speaker.
Rey lives in Loudoun County, Virginia, with his wife and two daughters, who run the household on a tighter cadence than any pursuit calendar.
